This year at Oxford Falls is going to be HUGE! I am actually so excited, I get goosebumps just thinking about it! I believe God is building an army of strong and bold kids who are on fire for Him. When we are weak, we can find strength in Him and when we are afraid we can find courage in Him. Lets put on the belt of truth, the protection of right living, the good news of peace on our feet, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation and the sword of the spirit which comes from the word of God (Ephesians 6:10). This is not a fight against our peers but a fight against the chains that have taken hold of their lives.
I am willing to do whatever it takes this year because I know God has a plan for our school and I want to be a part of it. The time is now! It is not in a week or a year, but right now! “It is now time for you to wake up from your sleep, because salvation is nearer now that when we first believed” Romans 13:11
I don’t know about you, but I’m tired of seeing the same faces at church week by week, I think it’s time to expand our tents, just like Isaiah 54:2 and realise that there is a whole bunch of people that we do day to day life with who don’t know Jesus and aren't filled with his love and peace which make this life worth living! I believe something is going to shift and chains that were once bounding us back will be broken. Through prayer meetings, alpha groups and hanging out at lunch, we can open the doors of peoples hearts, allowing God to flood in and fill them with his love.
There is a battle to be fought and a race to be won! The question is are you up for it? For me, I don’t know what is better living for than the cause of Christ. We have a whole school who are looking for truth in all the wrong areas! Let’s show them true life through living a life by the example of Jesus Christ, who gives us grace even when we don’t deserve it.
What do we do now? We read our bibles, fill our minds with his wisdom, so that the words that come from out mouths are words of encouragement. “When you talk do not say harmful things, but say what people need - words that will help others become stronger. Then what you say will do good to those who listen to you” Ephesians 4:29.
We need to pray everyday, asking God for his strength, wisdom and peace and that he would make us new in Him each morning. We also need to get into the habit of speaking things into existence. If you believe your group of friends are going to get saved, start declaring that to the Lord each morning when you wake up, so that when you go to school, you know that God is working his plans behind the scenes. We also need to be people who think what feels impossible is possible! “For people this is impossible, but with God ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE” Matthew 19:26. You know the people in your year who seem so far away from God that you don’t know if they would ever come to know Him? Well start declaring that they will be saved! Start to visualise them in church raising their hands, surrendering to God!
I have a vision this year, that we are going to be so alive and passionate about God and living by the example Jesus set out for us, that the whole school will start following in our footsteps and wanting to have the same fire and hunger that we do.
I seriously can’t wait!
